Challenging and thrilling

Honestly speaking, Tomb of the Mask can be frustratingly challenging. Similar with Pac-man, your cute and glowing game avatar will be running on the maze-like playing field to collect as many dots as possible. What’s different in this game is instead of pacing the course and having complete control where your avatar will stop and turn, Tomb of the Mask will send you blasting from wall to wall without the option of pausing mid-movement. You will only get to stop when you hit a wall or a platform. This means that you cannot blindly send your avatar on whatever direction you choose. That is to say that you also have to be careful not to bump on any of the game’s hazards like bats, spikes, and blowfishes because they will kill you instantly, Have I mentioned that you are granted only one life? That’s right! When you die in the game, you will have to start from the very beginning of the level. Unlike Pac-man, Tomb of the Mask does not offer extra lives so you cannot continue from where you left off.

Power-ups and boosters

Of course, there are also game boosters that will help you accumulate more points, collect dots, and survive the game for as long as possible. For starters, there is the “Freeze” power-up where everything except for your avatar will stop moving for a few seconds. The persistently rising tides, bats, blowfishes, and other game villains will stay still, giving you the freedom to collect as much dots as possible. There are also power-ups that will make you invincible, rendering your enemies useless. More will appear on the course as you level-up so make sure to clear as many stages as possible, Winning will also reward you with new masks that your game avatar can use. For instance, other available and achievable masks include Kitty, Cyclops, Voodoo, and Rabbit.
